Wahn Khang
Not only is Dr. Wahn G. Khang extremely

Personal
Born and raised in Soeul, Korea, Dr. Khang moved to the
United States to pursue his college education. He now resides in
Virginia with his wife, Yon, and his two daughters, Junie and Juna.
Education
Dr. Wahn Khang
is a talented periodontist who received his Doctor of Dental Medicine
from Tufts University in 1996, after which he performed an externship
as a dental resident at Ottis Coast Guard Air Base in Cape Cod,
MA. Following this externship, he completed his periodontics literature
review training at the Department of Periodontics Dental Division
at the Naval Hospital Tri-Service Medical School in Bethesda, MD.
In 1998, Dr. Khang received his Periodontology Residency Postgraduate
Certificate from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, followed
by a fellowship at the Veterans Hospital Department of Anesthesiology,
Baltimore. In 2007, Dr. Khang became a board certified Diplomat
of the American Board of Periodontology, which is the highest degree
a person can achieve in periodontics.
Awards and Recognition
Throughout
the years, Dr. Khang has been awarded many honors because of his
hard work, skill, and dedication in the periodontal field. In his
past educational experience, he received scholarships and graduated
with honors. In addition, he was awarded honors from Tufts University
as well as the Outstanding Resident Award and Chief Residence at
the University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery.
Professional Experience
His current practice at the Perio Implant Center
has been a highlight of Dr. Khang's professional experience since
1999. He has also served as a mock board examiner for periodontics
residents, attending instructor for literature review classes, and
clinical instructor for undergraduate students at the Department
of Periodontics, University of Maryland. Throughout the years, he
has taken a very active part in education, teaching, and researching
periodontal procedures. In addition, Dr. Khang has also presented
numerous lectures and published research relating to periodontal
practice. Currently, Dr. Khang is currently teaching the implant
course to general dentists, educating them on how to perform surgical
procedures and restore implants. He is the course director.
